Metallix Refining Video Wins Gold Addy® Award

Team 401 Best of Show Gold Awards Awards
It's time to toot my own horn a bit.

On Friday, February 29, the Greater Lehigh Valley Ad Club hosted the Seventh Annual Addy® Awards ceremony at Brookside Country Club in Macungie, Pennsylvania. The Addy Awards recognizes advertising media of all types in a three-tiered competition, with local winners advancing to regional and national levels. Among this year's local entries was the Metallix Refining sales presentation, a video produced by 401Creative, Ltd. with motion graphics courtesy of Kernie Cam Productions (that's me).

The ceremony began with the presentation of the Bronze awards, for which 401 received two, the first awarded to the Napco LLC website, the second for the YWCA 2006 Annual Report. Our failure to win any Silver awards was eased by the fact that we received two Gold's: one for the aforementioned Metallix Refining video, the other for 401's YWCA Week Without Violence website. We probably would have been content to stop there, receiving four awards for four submittals, but the final surprise of the night came as 401 was awarded Best of Show for their work on the YWCA Week Without Violence site.

While Kernie Cam can only lay claim to its work on the Metallix video, I am very happy for my friends at 401Creative and grateful for the opportunity to work with them on an award-winning piece. It was an enjoyable evening and a satisfying experience to be recognized for all of our hard work. I have to give special thanks to the 401 crew: Curtis Johnson, Brian Wcislo, and Devon Beck, for including me in the festivities and for being such great guys to work for. I also want to thank my beautiful girlfriend Whitney for attending the event and for all of the support and inspiration she has given me.
