Kernie Cam Supplies Graphics Package for Metallix Refining
Kernie Cam Productions recently supplied
401 Creative, Ltd. with a graphics package for Metallix, a precious metal refinery located in Greenville, North Carolina. The project was produced through 401 Creative for Custom Video Productions, Inc. (CVP), a New Jersey-based production company. Our task was to create a "virtual room" in which 401 Creative could composite an actor who was filmed against a green-screen. An animated logo treatment and lower-third graphic were also required. Footage of Metallix's Greenville facility was shot by CVP. The final product was edited by 401 Creative.
The virtual room was created with two-dimensional layers designed in Adobe Photoshop and arranged in 3D-space in Adobe After Effects. Trapcode's Lux plug-in was utilized to apply volumetrics to the lights, while Trapcode Particular was employed to create the rising smoke in the distance. The logo animation was created with Zaxwerks' 3D Invigorator plug-in, which applied depth to a 2D vector version of the Metallix logo. Particular was used again to add the welding sparks that sweep across the logo.
The video can be viewed in Flash video format at Metallix's website: www.metallixrefining.com or in QuickTime format at Custom Video Productions' site: cvpnj.com.
